Kolmo
Some time ago I made a brief introduction about this series of stories, "The Sacha's Chronicles", in another thread of this forum. But since this chronicles are written in english, I think here is where they fit best. This series of stories are published in the SimHQ web, where an editor nicknamed "Cat" started to write them in 2003, and continued them until two months ago. In them, she (yes, the writer is a woman) tells us about the story of a female russian pilot, callsign Sacha, and her adventures in a fictional world, a sort of "what if" experience, with an islamic revolution taking place in Georgia, a war against Turkey, governed by religious extremists, and an american invasion in Iran. Interesting enough, the stories sometimes convolute between them, with links to stories written by some other people, like the "Operation Persian Freedom", and some other stories from the "U-Boat" universe. Well written, with interesting plots, sometimes you can find yourself thinking you are reading a Tom Clancy novel. In addition, the stories are not only illustrated with LOMAC screenshots (and Jane's F/A-18 screenshots in the Operation Persian Freedom stories), but somehow, you can perfectly "feel the characters", since almost everything they do , you can do it too or have already done it while flying LOMAC or any other flight sim. Best part about this set of stories is next time you'll be flying your favorite sim, you'll imagine an interesting background. Maybe you know the persons inside the building you are about to bomb, maybe you are betraying your personal believes by flying that mission, maybe you are in love with your wingman... All in all, an interesting reading, that can be read in or downloaded from SimHQ. See U.
