This is UP 1.8 ReadMe file.

 

Installation Instructions:

 

1: Patch il2 Sturmovik 46 to Full 4.09m

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The UP 1.8 requires an install of Il-2 Sturmovik 1946, plus Patches 4.08 and 4.09.

No other previous Mod Patches are needed. The Ultr@Pack 1.8 includes the Majority of the Mods released from the beginning,

plus the new content from 4.09m version.

 

Patch 4.09 - The IL-2 4.09 Patch is available at http://forums.games.1c.ru/index.php?type=thread&msg_id=2282519

 

IMPORTANT : For user's with previous versions of UP 1.8 and any other Mod packages installed,

you have to DELETE any Files and MODS directories from previous Installations.

The UP 1.8 installer will install the majority of the New content in .SFS files, so older files are no longer needed.

 

If you want to keep these folders, you should rename them, or move them before running the Installer.

2 : If you downloaded IL-2 (Digital version), instead of installing from the CD, get update Patch.

I have not tested "aaa" D2D patch with UP 1.8 I have only tested SAS D2D.

3. Download the Installer files.

Detail : The UP 1.8 Installer has been split into multiple <500 mb. files. This has been done to reduce the possibility of file corruption when downloading. Also if a downloaded file is found to be corrupt, it reduces the size of the file that you must re-download.

This is a very large release, but that is because it contains all Mod content from the very beginning.

We intend that this will be the last regular release for some time and we will try and avoid any further releases in that time with the exception of correcting serious problems.

 

You will need to place all the files in a common directory to run the installer, unless you have the torrent file.

 

 

A small utility program, to calculate "hash sums" to verify the file downloaded, can be downloaded at:

4. Ensure that when the installer asks for which folder to install UP 1.8 into, that you point it

at the folder for the Il2 Sturmovik 46 directory or the Server's Directory you want to update.

 

 

The installation itself takes about 5-10 minutes depending upon your PC.

In JGSME you will see several options on the left.

(apply it so that it moves from the Left window to the Right)

You are now ready to run UP 1.8

Our intention is that all players use the same installation (mod-Package) and it is possible to play on servers with Checkruntime =2 enabled. So that we have security and also know that others are playing with similar set up.

 

IF you download & add other components in the Files folder or in other ways alter the content of your own install you will quickly no longer have an identical install to others or the co-op servers and you will loose the ability to join servers using UP 1.8 .

 

You Can however install individual mods in the MODS directory and by removing the - in front of it you can add further mods in your instalation.

But remember that in order to join a Server Using UP 1.8 you ALWAYS have to rename the MODS folder to something else like -MODS.

Sound: -

 

Recommended that you Switch your in game sound to 22Khz !!!

 

The game will run fast and sound good. There is no advantage whatsoever in choosing 44Khz although you have the option (unlike usual Soundmod versions which CTD).

 

Samples are 22 khz. mono and the presets use the SFX 0.8 system. (So this is the SFX system using 9.3-file structure & naming for maximum compatibility.)

 

In my view this is the most resource friendly and directional way that you can run the sound. Its faster and clearer and more importantly uses less system resources, This sounds & runs faster than sound mod 9x because that uses 44khz stereo samples which are nearly 4 times the size, il2 was never intended to play stereo samples anyhow and it doesn’t do it very well.

 

A 22 khz sample is of slightly lower quality, however few people are actually able to tell this difference and what you are hearing in il2 anyhow is a complete ‘sound-scape’ and not just a single sample.

 

However We DO plan to make a 44KHZ version of Soundmod, so people with more powerfull systems will enjoy the 44KHZ sound quality, and of course they will have to change it from 22KHZ to 44KHZ to avoid CTD.

Graphics: -

 

Recommended that you enable S3TC compression in your graphics card setup !!!

 

Launch il2 Setup, select Video tab, Choose Custom. Check ARB texture compression box and then select S3TC compression.

 

The mods have increased the amount of textures and their sizes considerably and this really helps those with older PC’s and graphics cards to avoid a CTD during mission loading or game launch.

Advanced engine management:- (II/JG51-Lutz)

 

What this does:-

 

Engine warm up sequence

Ensure that you have turned magnetos on. Start engine and idle for several minutes until your engine gets up to

temperature (about 50o C). If you do not do this, you will see an 'Underheat' warning and will suffer engine

damage.

 

Advanced Engine Torque

Planes are effected a lot more realistically by engine Torque.

 

Negative G loads engine damage

Aircraft performing negative G manoeuvres over sustained periods will get an 'oil pressure' warning and then

will start to suffer engine damage. (although WWII aircraft often had pressurised fuel systems and injection,

the same was not true for the oil systems.)

 

Advanced engine management does not directly change Olegs FM's. It creates an overlay in effect that

implements the above features.

Allows setting of wind strength, direction and turbulence in missions. These updated version also gives turbulence

beneath clouds and definable wind gusts.

V3 also simulates propwash when you get behind another aircraft.

 

Atmosphere Mod is optional because we have noticed a few problems currently:-

 

i) Either version may cause online ‘jitter’ but we need to test this, it may currently be that test servers

were not running it and it would be ok if they did?.

 

ii) V1 & V3 ai aircraft have a lot of problems with turbulence and keeping formation in specific

circumstances. Ai also cannot take account of wind whilst bombing but you can compensate in FMB.

 

iii) V3 propwash continues from aircraft after they have landed on carriers.

 

This is great and works well but its drawbacks decided us to leave it as optional currently. You have

the option and can switch it on or off. (the BOB server will be adopting V3 so switch it on if you wish to fly there.)

Perfect Map Textures

 

Beautifully re-textured versions of most of il2’s default maps by VpMedia, LAL_Rhone and Gilb57 (winter textures).

 

These look lovely. And if your PC can run il2 in ‘Perfect’ graphics mode, it is definitely worth using this option.

 

If you use this option and don’t play in ‘perfect’ you may possibly experience imperfections & little glitches on

some of the maps.

 

If you don’t use this option your game remains compatible with others who are running the textures but the older maps will look ordinary.

Torpedoes have to be dropped from realistic heights and at realistic speeds and have to run through the water for a certain time to arm. They also have a degree of malfunction.

Game performance increases

 

SFS Files ( Chaps, HSFX)

 

UP 1.8 is based on Chaps SFS archives that are made for HSFX History Mod. We in UP community tried to make the HSFX features suitable for the whole IL2 community as HSFX is focused on SEOW on-line campaign. I also tried to include the vast majority of these features to DF Servers also, and we've done our best. I hope you like the outcome, :)

However we included some "beta" content like the F-86 and Mig-15 along with some former AI flyables and Ranwers Typhoons, Uhu and our New slots aircraft with realistic FMs.

 

The IL-2 game engine was designed to store and retrieve it's resource files (graphics, sounds, java code) in a compressed format in SFS files. The Mods, up until now, have stored their altered files, in uncompressed files, many thousands of files ... and in a multitued of graphic formats, many that are non-native to IL-2 and have to be translated by the engine before use. This has slowed game load times dramatically, and become worse in each Mod release. User's with average PC's have seen load times recently of 4-8 minutes.

 

Version 1.8 now uses SFS files to store all Mod files in a compressed format, a huge saving in storage space, and all graphics files has been converted to formats that are native (faster, smaller) to the IL-2 game engine. This change dramatically reduces the game load times so that they are now close to standard Il-2. This also increases in-game performance over all previous versions of the Mod.

Java Code corrections (242Sqn_Chap)

 

UP contains revised Java by Chaps, a huge work indeed! A great contribution for the whole community, isn't it.

 

Many of the Mods included up to now have had literally hundreds of Java errors. This has been caused by coding being altered without an assessment of the full impact of the code changes, in all scenerios. It's a tribute to the

design of the IL-2 game engine that it could cope with the hundreds and hundreds of errors being generated while

running previous versions of the Mod packages, and still run with most users completely unaware of all the errors being generated. These errors did have a cost though, in game performance, as the game engine runs routines to

determine how to respond to the error and still continue executing the program.

 

All the Java routines, from A to Z, have been completely and thoroughly debugged in Version 1.8, including anything that was appearing in the log 1st file. This work is a significant contribution, along with the SFS files mentioned above, in the dramatic increase in performance in Version 1.8

This version includes the code that allows up to 128 players in an on-line coop mission. The actual number of

players that play without excessive lag and micro pauses, etc. depends on the performance of the server that is hosting the coop.

Carrier Catapult Mod (Fireball)

 

Taxi forward to the catapult track on carriers with them. Put chocks in and you will snap to the catapult track.

Throttle up and deploy flaps etc, when you release chocks the catapult will go throw you forward.

Updated and Improved Aircraft:-

 

All AI aircraft made flyable have enhanced FM’s, usually this is just the addition of glide and stall characteristics

and revised weight and wing area data wherever appropriate…although in some cases it has had to be more

exhaustive. (eg most of the 4 engine Heavies) We have also worked up the FM’s of some of the new aircraft

when we have thought them to be wildly wrong. (eg the Me410 was way off research data.) This is a constant

WIP. Olegs player FM’s are sacrosanct of course. (The Majority of the Fms are done by The HSFX team, and few by 303_Kwiatek)

 

Bomber gunner positions correctly named wherever possible in net code. Updated gunner cockpits in most of the

AI made flyable bomber with guns of correct nationality, cleaner positions and more appropriate turrets in many

cases. Fire extinguishers added to the US heavies. (Chap)

Infantry

 

FC (Idea & Initial classes and 3d) Delvper (TOW object conversions) and Chap (Development and il2/SEOW

integration) using some skins by LAL_Rhone.

 

New Infantry types that move and fire.

These are not perfect but are optimised to work with the SEOW system.

 

Moving infantry are available under the new Infantry option in FMB in 1,2,3 & 4's.

Most types are also available as Stationary Artillery.

 

These will move and fire. At close range <100m's they will also use explosive weapons so they do have some

capability against Tanks and other hard armoured vehicles.

 

Overview

 

Think of Infantry as representational rather that ‘exact’, this is similar to almost any war game.

 

Infantry are tougher than they should be, it takes about 10 7.6mm shots to kill a group of 3. (but they cannot hide or use cover in il2 as they would in reality).

 

The follow on from this is that each group of 3 in game is loosely representational of about 10 men:-

So:-

4-XXInfantry is equivalent to a platoon.

3-4 X 4-XXXInfantry, a Company

9-12 X 4-XXXInfantry, a Regiment

36 X 4-XXXInfantry, a Brigade

100+ X 4-XXXInfantry, a Division

(it differs from nation to nation but you should get the drift.)

 

Firepower is representational also, The capabilities of the AT sections representing not only AT weapons, but

other explosives like grenades, Satchel Charges and Mortars indigenous to almost all armies of this period in

some form.

Mission naming:-

 

The underlying il2fb.exe is Russian although all of the menus have been changed to English (or whatever you chose

under language).

 

For this reason if you wish to play old missions you must rename the mission properties files:-

 

Eg

brilliantmission.mis

briliantmission.properties would be your mission.

 

Change the missions properties files to:- brilliantmission_ru.properties and you will then get the briefing s back in English.

Este Ultrap@ck 1.8 promete ;) Es el mega Mod compatible con la versión 4.09 oficial y reune todo lo mejor que se ha hecho para haver crecer el IL2. Se destaca lo rápido de su carga, la mejora de la IA en las dog dinámicas, el sonido espectacular y los efectos, todo sin exprimir los recursos.-

Pues no lo se. Yo el ultrapack no lo he tenido nunca instalado. Tenia el AAA por la razon del switcher.

 

Pero vamos, me lo bajo por ser el primero para la 4.09m, porque os recuerdo que los mods, hasta el día de hoy solo funcionaban con la 4.08m.

 

Si me preguntas si son compatibles entre si, pues ni idea.

 

Supongo que cuando salga el AAA para la 4.09m tambien lo bajare.

 

Así que ahora mismo me cargo todas las instalaciones paralelas que tenía (que eran muchas), me dejo la 4.09m limpia, y de esta me hare dos copias, una para el ultrapack v1.8 y la otra para el AAA

Pues en muchas cosas sí lo es: carga muchísimo más rápido; los sonidos son increíbles (el del avión cuando cruje al forzar los giros es alucinante); gráficamente es claramente superior; las posibilidades que dan las nuevas opciones de repostaje, reparación del avión dañado y rearme para cooperativas y campañas dinámicas me parecen fenomenales; es compatible con la 4.09 final; con la gestión manual del motor te sale el mensaje de "underheat" (motor frío) nada más arrancar, con lo que debes de esperar un rato para poder despegar; Full Mission Builder Plus, con más opciones para confeccionar misiones....

 

Por contra hay menos aviones volables y seguramente alguna otra cosa que se echará en falta.

P.D.: El pasado fin de semana probamos una Dog Dinámica que había hecho Rockofritz para la versión de AAA, y la IA se vuelve mucho más agresiva: te ataca nada más verte y aumenta el nivel de pilotaje una barbaridad.

PD: COmo se descarga esto? porque el Torrent llevo casi 30 minutos conectado y no hay Seeds y solo 1 peer, por supuesto no ha ni empezado a descargar. Seamos proletarios, necesitamos mas Seeds

 

seeds 8(52) Peers 32 (291) tengo yo ene stos momentos y bajandins a 220Kb/s de media.

 

 

Es interesante, trae muchas más cosas que el AAA.1.2 oficial, aunque viene a ser lo mismo. El ultrapack creoq ue parte del mod oficial de AAA y le añade las betas y demás mods que si queremos tener en el aaa1.2, tenemos que añadir a mano. A parte claro está que la ventaja del ultrapack por ahora, es lo de ser compatible para la 4.09.

 

No obstante, aunque está muy bien, me quedo con los de la AAA1.2 pq añaden más cosas de las que me molan. Como por ejemplo la versión G del 190. entre otros.

Anoche deje bajando con el torrent y va muy bien, ya está completo y a instalar :rolleyes: . En cuanto al número de aviones volables, son tantos o más que la 1.2 de la AAA. Está el Sworfish, el F9F, todo tipo de versiones del Bf-109 y del Spiti, un Fiat nuevo, el tiger moth, se pueden usar las insignias de España,y muchos otros paises.- Se puede hacer más resistentes los puentes y trenes una cuestión necesaria para darle más realismo.- ^_^

el AAA 1.2 se demora por lo menos en mi equipo demasiado en cargar 3 minutos mas o menos, aparte no sale de windows, asi que tengo que esperar a que carge primero, regrezar a windows y volver al simu, y eso en windows 7 no me imagino lo que pasaria con vista, seguro que directamente estalla el tarro.

 

bajanding ahora mismo a 110 kbps el maximo de la conexion que tengo. B)

Pues no lo se. Yo el ultrapack no lo he tenido nunca instalado. Tenia el AAA por la razon del switcher.

 

Pero vamos, me lo bajo por ser el primero para la 4.09m, porque os recuerdo que los mods, hasta el día de hoy solo funcionaban con la 4.08m.

 

Si me preguntas si son compatibles entre si, pues ni idea.

Supongo que cuando salga el AAA para la 4.09m tambien lo bajare.

 

Así que ahora mismo me cargo todas las instalaciones paralelas que tenía (que eran muchas), me dejo la 4.09m limpia, y de esta me hare dos copias, una para el ultrapack v1.8 y la otra para el AAA

 

 

No son compatibles entre sí porque el Ultrap@ck usa el ZutiMod para activar la IA en la s dog, en lugar del mouving dog de la AAA.- El Zuti es hasta ahora superior.- B)

Al parecer no arreglaron un pequeño gran problema, en las dog sólo se registra el nombre del piloto y no aparece el avión elegido, ni el puntaje. Obviamente que todos queremos ver o contabilizar nuestros puntos, o al menos llevar la cuenta de nuestros derribos. :angry:

 

No se si a otros le pasa esto. :unsure:

 

 

Descargando y cuando lo volamos, te estoy esperando....

joder que torrent estan bajando ustedes porque el mio solo tiene un peer y 0 seed. y llevo horas, todos los puertos estan abiertos correctamente, vamos que no hay problemas.

 

Edito, ya esta descargando.

en 4h 18 m me ha bajado 600 megas,con una media de 42,6kb/s una mierda .

No comparten apenas ,una lastima

Lo he instalado, pero no veo ningun switcher para cambiar de version 409 y 409 mods.

Como funciona?

He visto un .exe que veo que activa o desactiva los mods. Supongo que si no activo ninguno tengo solo la version 409m limpia.

Otra cosa, veo muy pocos mods. Es asi?

Respecto al activador de Mods, efectivamente es el "*.exe" que dices (JSGME). Para poner la 4.09, verás que entre los mods hay uno que dice, aproximadamente, "4.09 Mods OFF", o algo así; si lo activas estás con la 4.09.

 

 

En cuanto a la cantidad, sí hay bastantes. Ten en cuenta que, por ejemplo, en el de la gestión manual del motor está incluido el del torque de la hélice y algún otro; y o mismo ocurre con algún otro mod, que en realidad son varios.

alguien me explica pq si descomprimo el up1.8 con el 7 zip sobre una de las copias del il2 con el parche 4.09, se me abre el juego y no aguanta ni 3 segundos antes de que me tire al escritorio?

 

 

Es como si entrase en conflicto con algo y se cerrase pq si. No, no tengo mensajito de "il2.exe ha detectado un problema y debe cerrarse" :lol:, solo carga el juego, aparece la pantalla principal, todo en ruski porsupuesto, y con la misma se cierra.

 

sin ideas, despues de probar a ejecutarlo sin ningún mod, volviendo hacer una copia del 4.09 original y copiado de nuevo los archivos del ultrapack....

No utilices el 7z. A mi, al ejecutar el primer archivo, me creó una carpeta temporal desde donde, una vez descomprimidos todos los archivos se abre una ventana para que marques la ruta al directorio de instalación.

 

Tampoco me sale en "ruski".

 

La instalación hay que hacerla sobre una copia limpia del IL-2+4.08+4.09.

Que primer archivo? lo estoy descomprimiendo con el winrar y lo que hago luego es pegarlo en la carpeta del il2 original (la copia limpia del IL-2+4.08+4.09), peo no ejecuto ninun archivo de los descomprimidos.

ya lo probe. carga rapido y en forma general da buena sensacion. la IA es muy buena.

hablando sobre los aviones la cabina del me 410 espectacular muy bien trabajada, exelente visibilidad, e visto fotos y creo que esta practicamente identica al original. sobre la desempeño del avion lo submodelan demasiado el hornisse alcanzaba 625kph, el del UP1.8 no creo que pase 540, con la pega a la maniobrabilidad. no supera en gran cosa al desempeño BF110 :blink:

pica bien conservando maniobrabilidad hasta los 840kph donde se comienza a partir.

 

El hornisse de AAAmod tiene una cabina muy preliminar pero el desempeño es exelente en velocidad y maniobrabilidad (cosa que sorprendio a los pilotos reales) y armado con mk103 se transforma en una potente arma incluso contra cazas, siempre que tenga ventaja de altura o sorprenda al enemigo o el rival tenga la mala idea de hacer un frontal. pica bien pero nunca alcanza un punto en el que se pueda destruir creo que por el tamaño del avion nunca pasa de esos 840kph criticos.

 

otro avion que ultilizo a menudo el mig3 con dos ametralladoras svka me parece que tiene aun mas ventaja en maniobrabilida y velocidad frente al BF109 F2 claro que esto se tendria que confirmar contra un piloto real y no contra la IA.

 

en general e probado varios aviones y esa es la tonica mas o menos.

Ah, vale. Supongo que has descargado el torrent. Yo me refería a la descarga directa, que son 7 archivos y el primero es autoejecutable.

 

Intenta probar con la última versión del winrar, que a veces da problema de archivos corruptos al utilizar diferentes versiones. O prueba con Izarc.
