Making this a separate topic, even though this will first show in the A318/A3129.
Shown here is the current status of our weather radar. For a long time I said (like many others) that a working weather radar was not possible in FSX. Well I was wrong. We found a way to access the data and what you see now matches the radar display. Even better, using the radar you can find rain. This works with FSX/P3d and with every weather add-on (or without weather add-on). The Images show that we can detect moving fronts, intensity etc. Some work is still needed to detect the tops of the rain clouds but the work is fully on schedule.
What is NOT yet done is to make it look good. As you see the weather is created in square blocks in FSX, we need to smooth these out, probably combine it with some other data etc. We also need to look at effects like one front hiding the one behind it and things like that. The images however show a fully working weather radar in FSX.

Hi all -

I had promised new screenshots - though it dawned on me shortly after this that we were fast approaching one of our internal release schedules (where a new build goes out to our technical/testing team), and I subsequently had to see to other tasks. Whilst such tasks inevitably bring the A320-X closer to your virtual hangers, it did mean that the promised new screenshots didn't show - so please accept my apologies.

So, we're now in April 2014 - and the A320-X is nearing completion. It's a very exciting time for all of us at Flight Sim Labs - spurred on by the thought of completing the project after four years in the making. We've still got many very exciting features to share with you as the project enters the final stages of development, and we'll be revealing some of those once we get into beta - for now, here are some screenshots of the latest virtual cockpit model.

A340 "ADDITION"

GUYS .. I am getting a little tired of answering this one..
so PLEASE Understand ..

there is "NO NEW PRODUCT"
and we are "NOT STARTING ON SOMETHING NEW"

The A321 was added to the A320 series as they are very similar and the whole family uses (Almost) the same code ..

The A340 is now being added to the A330 Family for exactly the same reasons.. IT IS NOT A NEW PRODUCT

This additional "modelling" does NOT Take anything away from the systems or gauge improvements and upgrades we have Scheduled for the updates...

BBS Consider these additional (FREE) models as Additional content to existing products and offers exceptional Value for money to our valued customers.

We could have easily added the A340 as a separate product later and then charged our existing customers again for for using the same code base again and again like "A competitor" is doing where their customers are paying for a 320/321 and having to pay again for the 318/319 (when they finally turn up_

Oh and they haven't finished there A320 yet either .. Feature wise the so called V1.0 is only up to BBS V0.7 Level although it may be a little more Visually pleasing.. If that's what rocks your boat.

And Finally we are not announcing an A380 , A350, A300, A310 or Beluga as these would indeed be "separate and totally new products"

Guys .. This is NOT AVSIM....
Please be polite and think before trying to put our products and methods down.. We have MANY satisfied customers, Including ACTIVE TEST PILOTS EMPLOYED BY AIRBUS TOULOUSE ! If I may quote a couple ......

"I tell u once you are done this will be the reference for the years to come"

"very well done ... It was responsive as I expected , so far so good ... the Yoyo is almost fully on the numbers ... smooth vdev very minimal ... I am impressed"

" there is no bus on sim level that can compete with yours.. Thats all I have to say to the matter"

People .. we do know what we are doing ok ?

Not exactly one of the latest shots... but at least something to show the ND is still undergoing some very nice enhancements that are well worth waiting for this shot shows an UNFINISHED work in progress state!

Hi all -

I wrote earlier this week on our forum that we've been busy coding some low level systems functionality lately - such is the nature of the A320, there isn't a lot to show for most of the code that sits behind our simulation (you need to fly it to fully appreciate our efforts there).

That said - we do have something we can show you this month. Those of you who studied our last set of screenshots pixel by pixel would have spotted that the weather radar panel on the pedestal was functional. Thanks to the fantastic work the guys at Hifi have done with ActiveSky Next (ASN), we have been able to simulate the Collins WXR-2100 for inclusion in our A320-X title.

There's still some work to do on the A320-X before we consider it ready for testing, so for now - let me leave you with a quick teaser!

http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/82081-airbus-projects-preview/page-23#entry593730
Time for some more wx radar images?
We have put in a single big Cumulonimbus (default FSX weather) and we are at 7500 feet and want to know how big and dangerous that cloud is.
post-43-0-27619000-1404487264.jpg
Mmm looks serious.
To find out how dense the cloud is we can reduce the gain.
post-43-0-68585500-1404487148.jpg
Clearly a rather dense rain core in that cloud!
Let's see how high it goes by aiming the tilt up.
post-43-0-88818000-1404487139.jpg
That's the top of the cloud where there is hardly any rain. Not too high but I doubt we'll be able to climb above it. Besides, the nasty turbulence is always above these clouds.
Let's see if it goes all the way to the ground, not that we want to dive under but it's a nice demo!
post-43-0-64764000-1404487146.jpg
Seems to go all the way down to the ground, note the return from the ground (ground clutter) in green.
If we zoom in we might get a better picture.
post-43-0-09193300-1404487144.jpg
To isolate the cloud from the ground we can reduce the gain.
post-43-0-14846800-1404487142.jpg
There you see the wide 'foot' of this cloud, the area with densest rain. It's clear that this is a cloud to avoid!
Let me close with a cool image of how you can use a weather radar for navigation. The beam is aimed down and we let is gather a few sweeps at medium gain. We get this display of the coastlines of Holland, Germany and Denmark. The sea is calm as there are no returns from waves.

In case you do not recognise the coastline:
