  1. Haha, thanks for the translation on the affinity stuff. :) I'm slowly starting to understand a little bit of Spanish from trying to read your words, it's very fun. Yes you are correct about the wings on the F-14, they should be forward. It's a bug that I have to deal with due to the nature of FS-recorder. Sometimes it doesn't capture the wingsweep properly, so I just set the wings back permanently which is the default state for them. The wingsweep on the Iris F-14 is controlled through the propeller pitch function, which is very clever, but recorder doesn't really interpret this well. This movie was so complex to do, with everything in it, that I could just not be bothered to try to fix that! haha. During the multiplayer parts I had my friend flying the Tomcat keep the wings swept back to keep the video consistent. Actually the F-14 can fly very slowly with swept wings, it just has a hard time landing that way. :) It has to land at more than 160 knots hehe. Gracias again for all your nice comments! -Mike
  2. Hi Tuckie. Yeah, fraps is very demanding. I have a core2duo 6600, overclocked to 3.0 ghz, 2 gigs of ram, and an nvidia 7900GTO. I set affinity for fraps to core 1 only, so that FSX can have core 0 to itself. That helps quite a bit. If you have a dual core processor give that a try. Cheers, Mike
  3. Thanks for all the praise guys! And yeah, I just HAD to use Wagner for the Valkyrie parts. It's a bit cheesy but still fun, especially the very last shot after the credits. :)
  4. Yes FS Recorder is immensely useful for a movie like this. About 1/2 of the video was done in multiplayer, like my others, but there are some shots you just can't get that way, or if you could they would take a lot more effort, many many retakes. Recorder to the rescue! The FSX version of recorder does have a few small problems, but they aren't too hard to work around. Matthias Neusinger, the author of recorder, is a really nice person too. I talked to him several times by email when I was working on this. :) Gracias again for all your praise, I really appreciate it guys! I really need to start learning Spanish. :) Cheers!
  5. I would crash in FSX too, there's a bit of trickery in this. Glad you liked it guys. And yeah, the Valkyrie is wickedly fast. The first time I shot those passes I flew it at mach 2.8, but it went by so fast that I couldn't turn my head fast enough with my track-ir to catch it for the video, so I had to slow it down to *only* 950 knots hahahaha. Cheers! Mike
  6. Haha, hey guys. I was going to post my video here, but you already beat me to it! haha. Too funny. You guys are fast, it's only been on youtube a few hours. Anyway, I hope you like it. It's pretty crazy! Took about a month to make, I'm sooo tired! Hope you're all well. :) Cheers, Mike/lotus
  7. Thank you for all your nice comments! I will indeed come back to Spain one day, for the food yes, but mostly for the girls. :) haha. I found your forum through my youtube page. On youtube it shows me when people have linked to the movie, and how many have clicked on the link. There are many clicks from your forum, about 180. :) Gracias, Lotus/Mike
  8. Thanks for the definition of "Joder". That's such a cool word, efficient too, replaces three words in english at the same time. I love it. Cheers!
  9. Haha, please do not apologize for your English, truly, it is your forum, I wish I could speak Spanish. Thank you for the warm welcome, you're very kind. Also I want to tell you that I have been to Spain before, to Barcelona, Madrid, and Valencia. You have a very pretty country, and so much energy! I had a great time there. Next time, Ibiza! I live in Canada by the way, in Vancouver. My computer is sometimes very slow with FSX too, so I can understand why you are swearing. :) My system is a core2duo 6600 (@3.0 ghz), 2 gb of 667mhz ram, and an Nvidia 7900GTO 512mb. I have done many tweaks to get better framerates, smaller textures, less autogen etc, but even so my FPS could be better. I get 25 fps most times, but sometimes much less. Also Vegas helps with smoothing the video. The Baghdad flames and smoke I created myself with the FSX sdk, so there is nowhere to download it from, it is only on my computer. I am sorry, but I don't feel good making that available for download. It was something I had to do so that I could tell my story, but I am not happy about it. I hope you understand. If you have FSX deluxe you can download the SDK and learn how to do such things in FSX. I'm not sure if there is a Spanish manual, maybe. The F-18 hornet was flown by my friends Pebble and Futureflyer in different scenes. I created explosion effects and attached them to the airplane. I then told the pilots to turn on the effects at a certain time to create the illusion that the F-18 was shot at and destroyed, but none of the bullets do damage. After the explosion, Futureflyer then flew the F-18 into a spin while it appeared to be on fire. I can't use babelfish to translate this properly, so I hope it makes sense. In all of my videos my friends do most of the flying. We fly online together and I have some aircraft that I have changed so that they are invisible. I fly beside my friends, and use my Track-ir to follow their airplanes and record them. So on a happy note, the F-18 is just fine, no injury! I flew her yesterday. haha. :) I would like to ask one question. Could someone please tell me what "Jooooder" means in english? I see this word often! Gracias! Lotus... Mike :)
  10. Gracias.
Si alguien podría traducir mi mensaje a español doy gracias. Continúo en inglés... Thank you for looking at my film. I have tried to translate your comments into english but the results are difficult to understand haha, babelfish is not a good translator. :) I just want to give you the message of my film personally, as I think it might be difficult to understand with the english music. The words in the song are important to the story. The film is about war, and how it hurts us all in the end, even after the war is over. My intention with the film is not to offend people, or to have them think that I am anti-american, I am not. But I am against all wars, and I wanted to make this film in the present day, to make my statement. I hope you enjoyed the film, and I am sorry if you did not. I probably cannot answer questions for you, but I can try. The movie was made completely in FSX multiplayer and edited in Vegas. Thank you, esté bien -Lotus
