amalahama Posted June 8, 2009 Report Share Posted June 8, 2009 Russian contract to boost Su-34 production Sukhoi has announced a five-year contract with the Russian Air Force for production of its Su-34 strike aircraft. Production is currently at a low rate at the V P Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Production Association (NAPO): one of the manufacturing units within the Sukhoi Holding Company. Two Su-34s were produced in 2006, another two aircraft in 2007 and a fifth in 2008. The aircraft that have been produced are currently undergoing operational testing that includes the clearing of a full spectrum of weaponry. Analysts from the Moscow-based Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST) regard the introduction of the Su-34 as "the beginning of a realisation of the technical upgrading of the air forces". Sukhoi representatives describe the aircraft in its current configuration as a "4+ generation aircraft that has a complement of onboard computers that provide for a state-of-the-art flight control system and the delivery of precision-guided weapons. Its full-authority engine controls and the option(s) of extending range with additional external fuel tanks or air-to-air refuelling put it in the class of a medium-weight strategic bomber." amalahama Posted June 17, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 17, 2009 Hombre, el Su-34 muy agraciado visualmente tampoco es que sea, eso de cuerpo de caza con to el cabezón no queda muy elegante. Tampoco un avión tiene que ser bonito para que funcione bien, mira los Mirage, muy finos ellos y luego son un verdadero petardo :P Saludos!!
