Lado izquierdo:

  • NAV pages: 1-5 Todas implementadas
  • FPL pages: 0-25 Todas implementadas
  • MOD pages: 1-2 Todas implementadas
  • TRI pages: 0-7 No disponible.
  • CAL pages: 4 is implementada. 1-3 and 5-7 No disponible.
  • STA pages: nothing. 1-4 No disponible.
  • SET pages: pages 0-3 implementada. 5-7 No disponible.
  • OTH pages: page 3 implementada, 1-2 and 4-10 No disponible.

Lado derecho:

  • NAV pages: 1-5 Todas implementadas
  • ACT page: Implementada.
  • REF page: No disponible.
  • CTR page: No disponible.
  • APT pages: 1-7 implementada, #8 No disponible.
  • VOR page: implementada.
  • NDB page: implementada.
  • INT page: implementada.
  • SUP page: implementada.

README for the KLN90B for FSX/P3D Beta version 0.76B 23 JAN 2015
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installation
------------

To install the KLN90B into your sim simply execute the provided installer. It will
place the gauge in your Gauges folder and create a new folder in your FS folder named
'KLN90B' which will contain all the options, databases, and other files needed to make
the gauge function.

The installer will look for your FSX root folder in the registry and that will be the
default location it will suggest. It will not detect Prepar3d version 2, nor FSX-SE
if FSX-SE is installed alongside FSX. You will need to browse to your FS folder to
install in either of those cases. DO NOT INSTALL this anywhere else but you FS root
folder or it won't work! The exception is that you may choose to install to a temporary
location and then copy the components into your FS folder. That's okay, just be sure
to copy everything to the right place.

One of the folders in the KLN90B folder is named 'Manuals'. That contains all the
information you will need to use and configure the KLN90B. At least read the KLN90B
for FSX User's Guide, even if you are familiar with the actual GPS unit, or you may
suffer some frustration with the way the knobs are turned. There are also some FS
extensions that are not obvious until you read the manual.

What's New?
----------

* There is documentation! Look in the KLN90B\Manuals folder for a 20-page User's
Guide.

* Sound has been added. Knobs and buttons click. The sound of the inner knob is
different from the outer one.

* A new hidden click spot has been implemented in the black hole to the left of
the power knob. It will toggle the default AP heading being driven by the KLN.
It will light green when the AP is being driven in this way. The option to
toggle this from the KLN90B add-on menu is still there. The green light will
light if that is used too. The option to place your AP in HDG mode but your
NAV/GPS switch in GPS moed is also operational but the green light will not
illuminate in this case.

This does not apply to the TU-154 ABSU which is always available to be selected
from the PT TU-145 cockpit.

* The course tracking when the KLN90B is driving your default AP heading has been
greatly improved and is more reliable and accurate.

* The database can now be rebuilt to include soft runways (previously only hard
ones were available) and ILS frequencies. The ILS frequencies will be reported
on the previously unused APT 5 page.

* Many more options have been added to the KLN90B.CNF file. See the documentation
for details.

* The ability to use SIDS and STARS is disabled. APT 7 will say there are none
available. This is because the code is too buggy and crash-prone to be
reliable. These will be re-enabled in a future lease when they work. If you
just have to have this, the option SIDSTAR=1 in the [KLN90B] section of the
configuration file will bring them back. You do this at your own risk.

History
-------

The project is built from the source code for the KLN90B that was generously placed
in the public domain by the Project Tupolev team in the spring of 2014. A group of
FS enthusiasts that are interested in the KLN90B for FSX/P3D have been contributing
to the continued development of the gauge, and this is the latest and greatest version
of it available to the public.

The goal of this project is to take the already realistic KLN90B simulation and make
it even more complete and authentic so that it can be considered an emulation not just
a simulation. By release 1.00 we want to have every feature of the original that is
possible to simulate in FSX/P3D. The second goal is to produce a gauge that can
be used as a practical working GPS navigation instrument, not just a historical relic.
To that end some extensions to the KLN90B have been and will be introduced to make it
easier to use in the FS world. But each of these will be a configurable option that
can be turned off -- so that if desired, only the totally authentic plain vanilla
KLN90B will be presented.

Since this gauge came from Project Tupolev it will always support the interface to the
TU-154 by exporting the nav information that the ABSU needs. This is always automatic,
no option needs to be turned on or off, and it doesn't affect navigation in non-TU-154
aircraft -- which is done by driving the default autopilot heading.

// 150120 CEO 0.075B Added options to be able to control AP HDG mode, ILS freq, and soft runways.
// 150120 CEO 0.075B Implemented the MSG-ENT shortcut to the nearest airport pages.
// 150121 CEO 0.076B Fixed bug where if you let it navigate to destination it would crash.
// 150121 CEO 0.076B Greatly improved on-course driving of the default AP heading.
// 150122 CEO 0.076B Implemented a click spot to switch to AP heading mode.
// 150123 CEO 0.076B Added sounds for the buttons and knobs.
// 150123 CEO 0.076B Disabled loading of STD/STARS but added option SIDSTAR=1 to load anyway.

Note: The original gauge implemented SID/STARS. We have determined that the code at this point
does not often insert the waypoints in the right location and is crash-prone. Therefore, we have
temporarily disabled access to the APT 7 page until these problems can be resolved. To fly a
SID or STAR, insert the waypoints manually.

Airac no actualizable?
  • Garmin 430 (Mindstar). Vale lo mismo que un patanegra®. Airac de RealNav. Orientado al uso comercial.
  • Garmin 430 (GPS por defecto X-plane).
  • Garmin 500 (GPS por defecto FSX).
  • Garmin 530 (Don Kuhn). Gratuito.
Airac no actualizable?
  • Bendix/King KLN90B (Project Tupolev). Gratuito.
  • Bendix/King KLN90B (Aerosoft Twin Otter).

Installation

  1. Install v0.76B with its installer.
  2. Overwrite the kln90b.dll with the new DLL in the Gauges directory of FSX.
  3. Install any of the supported Navigraph FMS Data packs. No such package is provided with the KLN90B package itself.
  4. Make the necessary modifications in the KLN90B.CNF config file in the KLN90B directory of FSX
  5. Run FSX. It might ask you to allow using the new version of the DLL. Acknowledge it.
Improvements
  1. SID/STAR bugs are fixed and feature is re-enabled.
  2. Besides the current navigation pack, support for three Navigraph FMS packages are added.
  3. SID/STAR transition support is added to APT+7 pages (see KLN 90B Pilot Guide chapter 6.2 SID/STAR Procedures). Available if used with any of the Navigraph FMS packages.
  4. Offers adding the STAR airport to the flight plan if it is not yet included (see KLN 90B Pilot Guide chapter 6.2.2 Selecting a STAR point 7)
  5. Removes possible duplicate waypoints at the end of the SID and at the beginning of the STAR.
  6. Maximum number of flight plan points is increased from the real life 30 to 50 to support longer SID/STARs. In later versions this might be going in the config file as parameter to support those who want to stick to the real life limitations.
  7. Displaying UTC time on the INIT page.
  8. ILS frequencies are added correctly for airports with add-on sceneries.
  9. Fully qualified debug file name can be defined in the config file.
  10. Storing only live flight plan points into the flight plan file (no garbage points at the end of each FP).
Supported FMS packages
  1. PT proprietary package (no updates are planned)
  2. EADT KLN 90B from Navigraph
  3. PSS Airbus/Boeing/Dash from Navigraph
  4. vasFMC Flight Management from Navigraph
Definition of the FMS package in the config file

Define the FMS package you have installed in the KLN90B.CNF configuration file including the package identifier number and the path to the package.

[KLN90B]
NAVDATA=4 ; Navigation data package number (0-4)
; 0: no external navigation database
; 1: traditional PTT database (no transitions)
; 2: "EADT KLN 90B" pack
; 3: "PSS Airbus/Boeing/Dash" pack
; 4: "vasFMC Flight Management" pack
NAVDIR=D:\SIM\FSX\KLN90B\DB\VASFMC ; Navigation data directory
